Part-Time Riding Instructor – Western Reining Horse Bar
Location: Eastmark Performance Horses – Kennebunk, Maine
Hours: 25 hours per week
Schedule: Afternoon Hours (1pm-6pm)
Pay: $20/hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Part-Time Riding Instructor to join our western lesson program. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching beginner and intermediate riders in a structured lesson program and be comfortable working with groups of up to five students per class.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct beginner and intermediate Western riding lessons (group format, up to 5 students).
- Provide a safe, educational, and engaging learning environment.
- Assess riders’ progress and offer individualized feedback.
- Ensure proper horsemanship, tack usage, and horse care during lessons.
- Assist in maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere in the barn.
- Evening feed duties, including feeding horses, checking water, and basic barn upkeep.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience teaching Western riding.
- Strong horsemanship skills and knowledge of horse care.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with riders of all ages.
- Comfortable working with groups and maintaining a structured lesson environment.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong problem-solving abilities.
Schedule:
- Approximately 25 hours per week, including evenings for feeding duties.
- Lesson schedule varies but includes primarily group sessions and onsite trail rides.
